FRP (Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic) roofing sheets are high-performance, lightweight panels manufactured through a continuous laminating process that combines polyester resin with fiberglass reinforcement and UV-stabilized surface film. The result is a rigid, corrugated or flat sheet that offers exceptional strength-to-weight ratio while allowing natural light transmission.
Available in translucent (for daylighting applications) or opaque (for privacy/thermal control) versions, FRP roofing sheets typically measure 1.0mm to 3.0mm in thickness, with standard widths of 650mm, 760mm, 1000mm, or custom dimensions. Corrugation profiles include classic 5-rib, 7-rib, sinusoidal, or trapezoidal shapes designed to match common metal roofing profiles (e.g., Corrugated, Trimdek, Klip-lok). Sheet lengths can be customized up to 12 meters continuous, eliminating end laps that cause leaks.
Compared to traditional roofing materials: FRP is lighter than metal (1/3 the weight of steel), more impact-resistant than polycarbonate, and completely corrosion-resistant unlike galvanized steel. The material withstands extreme temperatures (-40°C to +120°C), resists hail damage, and will not rust, rot, or corrode when exposed to chemicals, salt spray, or industrial fumes. UV-stabilized surface films prevent yellowing and loss of light transmission for 15+ years. Fire-retardant resin systems (Class A or B fire rating per ASTM E84/UL 790) are available for building code compliance.

Product Advantages
High light transmission: Translucent sheets provide 60–85% natural light diffusion, reducing daytime electric lighting costs by 40–60% in industrial and commercial buildings. Diffused light reduces glare and hot spots compared to polycarbonate.
Corrosion-proof: Completely immune to acid rain, chemical fumes (H₂S, SO₂, chlorine), salt spray, agricultural chemicals, and animal waste. FRP outperforms galvanized steel (rusts in 2–5 years) and aluminum (pits in marine environments).
Lightweight & easy installation: 1.5–3.0 kg/m² versus steel at 5–8 kg/m². Reduces roof structure requirements, lowers shipping costs, and allows faster installation with fewer workers. Can be cut with standard circular saws or shears.
Impact-resistant: Withstands hailstones up to 25mm diameter, falling tools, and maintenance traffic without cracking or shattering – unlike brittle polycarbonate or fiber cement sheets.
UV-stabilized & weather-resistant: Surface embedded with UV inhibitors prevents yellowing, chalking, or loss of strength for 15+ years. Resists degradation from continuous sun exposure, heavy rain, and temperature cycling.
Thermal insulation: Lower thermal conductivity than metal (0.2–0.3 W/m·K vs. steel at 50 W/m·K), reducing condensation and heat transfer. Optional foam-backed panels increase R-value.
Fire-retardant options: Class A or B fire ratings per ASTM E84 and UL 790. Self-extinguishing resin systems meet international building codes for commercial and industrial structures.
Customizable profiles & colors: Match any metal roofing profile for seamless integration. Available in clear, opal, white, or custom RAL colors. Opaque sheets provide complete privacy and UV blocking.
Application Scenarios

Industrial buildings: factories, workshops and warehouses are used as lighting belts, and are installed in specific positions on the roof with color steel plates to solve the lighting problem in the middle area of large-span buildings. This is the most classic and widely used application.

Gricultural buildings: Greenhouses and greenhouses, as the entire roof or most of the roof materials, provide sufficient scattered light for plant growth, and are safer and lighter than glass. Farms (chicken houses, pig houses) provide light and keep dry, corrosion-resistant to resist the ammonia corrosion in livestock and poultry houses.

Commercial and public facilities: Sports venues and swimming pools utilize partial roof surfaces to introduce natural light, conserve energy, and create comfortable environments. The atriums and corridor ceilings of shopping malls provide wind and rain protection while creating bright indoor spaces. Station platforms and toll booth roofs.

Special and corrosive environment: FRP panels are used on the roof of chemical, electroplating and sewage treatment plants to solve the problem of easy corrosion of metal roofs. Seafood markets and pickling workshops resist high humidity and salt corrosion.

Building decoration and renovation: sunroom, terrace roof is safer than glass, more durable than sun panel.
