The FRP guardrail staircase is a complete access solution combining a fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP) stair stringer, slip-resistant treads, and a built-in guardrail system – all from one mold or assembled from modular pultruded profiles.

Unlike steel staircases that rust or aluminum ones that corrode in salt spray, this FRP structure is chemically inertnon-conductive, and virtually maintenance-free. The integrated guardrail (top rail, mid rail, and toe board) meets OSHA and ISO 14122 industrial safety standards without requiring separate metal rail fabrication.

Application Scenarios

Chemical Plant
In areas where there is a risk of leakage of strong acids, strong bases or organic solvents, the FRP guardrail and staircase system is completely non-corrosive and non-conductive. Combined with the integrated anti-slip tread, it ensures the safety and durability of workers when conducting high-position equipment inspections or cross-layer operations in corrosive environments.

Wastewater Treatment Plant
The steel stairs in this plant are often exposed to high humidity, hydrogen sulfide and chloride ion erosion. They usually suffer severe rusting within two years. However, the FRP guardrail escalator is resistant to moisture and does not rust. It also requires no painting maintenance. Its integrated safety guardrail can effectively prevent operators from accidentally falling on the slippery platform.

Offshore Platform
The sea salt fog has extremely strong penetrating corrosive ability on metal structures. The FRP guardrail staircase adopts a salt-resistant resin system and has no metal components (optional FRP connectors). It can be used for 10 years or more without maintenance on offshore oil and gas platforms or ship boarding towers at the port, and its lightweight feature makes it convenient for helicopter hoisting and installation.

Substation
The FRP material itself is an insulator and does not conduct electricity or generate induced currents. On substations, high-voltage switch stations or during the maintenance of electrical equipment, FRP staircases with railings can replace metal stairs, completely eliminating the risk of electric shock caused by stray currents or accidental contact with live parts. Moreover, the overall guardrail system complies with the safety standards of the power industry.

Public landscape Walkway
For pedestrian stairs of park viewing towers, wetland walkways or coastal paths, FRP guardrail escalators can be customized with wood-grain patterns or any RAL color. They do not fade or rot under the alternating effects of outdoor ultraviolet rays and rain, and do not require annual anti-corrosion painting. The overall guardrail takes into account both safety protection and landscape harmony.

Radiology Department of the Hospital
The nuclear magnetic resonance (MRI) equipment is highly sensitive to ferromagnetic materials in the environment. The FRP guardrail escalator is completely non-magnetic and free of metal interference. It can be used as a maintenance staircase or emergency evacuation passage for MRI equipment rooms. At the same time, its flame-retardant version (UL 94 V-0) meets the fire protection requirements of medical buildings and does not interfere with the imaging magnetic field.
