The FRP Phenolic Aldehyde Flange is a high-performance composite flange manufactured from phenolic resin reinforced with fiberglass. Unlike standard polyester or vinyl ester FRP flanges, the phenolic aldehyde system provides exceptional fire resistance, low smoke generation, and minimal toxic gas emission when exposed to flame. This flange meets stringent fire safety standards including ASTM E84 Class 1, UL94 V-0, and BS 476 Part 7.
In addition to fire safety, the cross-linked phenolic structure offers outstanding resistance to polar solvents, ketones, esters, and concentrated acids – chemicals that quickly degrade conventional FRP flanges. The flange maintains structural integrity from -40°C to 150°C depending on formulation. Available with ANSI, DIN, or JIS drilling patterns, and compatible with phenolic FRP pipes, ductwork, and fittings. Typical bolt torque ratings and gasket surface finishes follow ASME B16.5 guidelines.
