FRP grating offers superior corrosion resistance, electrical insulation, lightweight strength, and operational safety. While not intended to replace metal grating in all conditions, it is the most reliable and cost-effective solution for corrosive environments or applications requiring insulation and low maintenance, delivering long service life and reduced lifecycle costs. Compared with conventional metal grating, fiberglass grating does not rust and can reduce handling, coating and maintenance requirements in aggressive environments. It is especially suitable where corrosion resistance, slip resistance, electrical insulation and lightweight installation are more important than the maximum load capacity of steel.
Fortis is an experienced FRP grating manufacturer supplying corrosion-resistant fiberglass grating panels for industrial flooring, access platforms, walkways, stair treads, trench covers and marine decks. Our current range focuses on molded FRP gratings for wet, corrosive and electrically sensitive environments.
Our factory operates 33 FRP production lines, including 11 pultrusion lines and 9 compression-molding lines. This manufacturing base allows us to supply standard FRP grating panels, custom-cut sections and complete access structures for chemical plants, water treatment facilities, offshore platforms, power projects and industrial buildings.
In addition to grating, Fortis supplies a wider range of industrial FRP products for integrated project procurement.
FRP grating is approximately one-third the weight of comparable steel grating, helping reduce transportation, lifting and site-handling requirements. It does not require galvanizing or routine repainting, which is particularly valuable in facilities where maintenance shutdowns are expensive.
| Product Type | Structural Characteristics | Uses |
|---|---|---|
| Molded FRP Grating Panels | One-piece square-mesh construction with strength in both directions | Corrosive floors, platforms with pipe cut-outs, drainage areas and maintenance walkways |
| Pultruded FRP Grating | Continuous bearing bars providing higher stiffness along the load direction | Longer spans, higher-load access platforms and industrial structures |
| Anti-Slip FRP Grating | Grit-top, concave or textured walking surface | Wet walkways, stair treads, ship decks and operating platforms |
| FRP Cover Plate Grating | Covered surface that limits tools, debris or liquids passing through the panel | Clean workshops, trenches and equipment access areas |
| FRP Platform and Stair Systems | Grating combined with supports, stair sections and guardrails | Offshore facilities, natural gas platforms and elevated industrial access |
For integrated wastewater projects, grating can also be coordinated with our FRP water treatment equipment.
Fortis maintains a structured molded grating range covering 30 standard combinations rather than offering only one general-purpose panel.

With more than 20 years of composite manufacturing experience, Fortis supports distributors, contractors, EPC companies and industrial project buyers requiring standard panels or project-specific FRP solutions.
Depending on the order and project standard, our in-house testing capability includes tensile properties, flexural strength, impact performance, Barcol hardness, deformation and resin-to-glass content. Fire resistance, electrical insulation and corrosion-related inspections can also be arranged according to project requirements.
