The Outdoor Dropout Fuse Cutout is designed for overload and short-circuit protection in overhead distribution lines and transformer systems. Widely used in medium-voltage power distribution networks, it provides reliable circuit protection and electrical isolation for transformers, branch lines, and other distribution equipment. Its drop-out structure offers a clear visible disconnection point, ensuring safer maintenance and operation.

Product Advantages
1.Reliable Short-Circuit Protection
When a short circuit occurs in the line or transformer, the fuse element melts instantly to interrupt the fault current, preventing equipment damage and reducing the risk of further system failures.
2.Effective Overload Protection
Under long-term overload or overcurrent conditions, the fuse element gradually melts to protect distribution transformers and branch circuits from overheating and overload damage.
3.Visible Disconnect & Electrical Isolation
After fuse operation or manual opening, the fuse tube automatically drops down, creating a clearly visible isolation point. This design improves maintenance safety and provides convenient line inspection and outage operation.
4.Safe and Stable Outdoor Performance
Designed for outdoor environments, the product offers reliable operation, simple structure, and convenient maintenance for power distribution systems.
Application Scenarios
In rural electrification projects or urban fringe areas, the Complete Fuse Assembly is most commonly installed on the primary side of 11kV or 33kV pole-mounted transformers. When a transformer experiences an internal winding fault or core failure, this dropout fuse assembly instantly detects the overcurrent, melts the calibrated element, and mechanically releases the tube to fall open under gravity. This provides visible break protection for linemen and isolates the faulty transformer from the main feeder line, preventing cascading outages for hundreds of households.

For protecting lateral branch lines that tap off from main transmission trunks, this fuse cutout assembly acts as the first line of defense. In a typical configuration, a 33kV rated complete fuse assembly is installed at the branch point. If a tree falls on the branch line or a vehicle hits a pole downstream, the assembly interrupts the fault current before it affects the main grid. Unlike reclosers, this economical solution requires no auxiliary power, making it the preferred choice for long, rural overhead line branches with low load density.

Power factor correction banks located on distribution poles often require protection against internal capacitor element breakdown. The complete fuse assembly is matched specifically to the inrush current and discharge characteristics of capacitors. When a capacitor unit fails short-circuit, the fuse's fast-clearing expulsion design vents ionized gases downward (away from live parts), safely disconnecting the faulty can. This prevents the risk of case rupture or dielectric fluid leakage that could contaminate the surrounding environment.
